Charles Barkley Roasts Giannis Antetokounmpo And The Milwaukee Bucks: “Giannis Has Got To Be Better. They Got Beaten Two Years In A Row Exactly The Same Way.”

2 Min Read

Giannis Antetokounpo is widely recognized as one of the NBA’s best players. As the reigning back-to-back MVP, he’s also got the accolades to show for it.

But even Giannis isn’t without flaws and, on TNT’s “Inside The NBA,” former superstar big man Charles Barkley explained why the 4x All-Star still has a lot of work to do…

“Giannis has got to get better as a player, Ernie…. he’s got a long way to go as a player. You are playing against 2 good teams and 5 bad teams so your numbers average out. They got beaten 2 years in a row, exactly the same way. We were talking about the “Toronto wall” two years ago, then they get beat by the “Toronto wall” last year.

You notice when they play games, their half-court offense is not good. It’s just not good. I would love to see Giannis post-up more.”

As much as Charles gets clowned for his “outlandish” takes, he might be on to something here.

Giannis’ limitations on offense are one of the few major gripes on his career in the NBA. Despite being a 2x MVP, his inability to stretch the floor and expand his game offensively becomes a huge liability in the postseason, where the Bucks have been sent home relatively early for the past two years.

If Giannis can work on improving his shortcoming, both him and his team could see an amazing outcome. If not, more disappointment and failure could be in their future…
