NBA analyst Bobby Marks called out Damian Lillard over his indecisiveness regarding his future with the Portland Trail Blazers.

“I don’t want to hear it anymore on these shows,” Marks said on the Five on the Floor podcast… “Either the roster is good enough and you’re content or go in there and ask to be traded like a lot of players have done. Jimmy [Butler] did it, and it worked out better for him. With Lillard, if it’s not now, when is it?”

Lillard has been one of the major talking points ever since the team failed to make the playoffs this season. While he has maintained his stance on winning a championship with Portland, there have been contrasting reports that his time with the franchise depends on how they fare in the offseason in terms of constructing a suitable roster around the guard.

As far as the latest update goes, the Blazers hold the No. 3 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft and per ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the team would prefer to trade the pick for an established star.

Earlier, The Athletic’s Shams Charania revealed that Lillard had put the ball in Portland’s court. Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show:

“Right now, it’s really up to Portland,” Charania stated. “Damian Lillard has really left it up to Portland. He wants to be there, he wants that team to get better. They have the No. 3 pick in the draft, they have the 23rd pick in the draft, they have Anfernee Simons. What can you go get in the marketplace that will make this team better? If nothing comes about, I do think Damian Lillard will have to look very hard at his future in Portland.”

As the summer looms large, the star and the team have a decision to make. It remains to be seen if Lillard indeed stays a Blazer for the foreseeable future.

The Miami Heat Have Their Sights Set On Damian Lillard

The Miami Heat are one of the teams linked with making a major move this offseason, with their main targets being Bradley Beal and Damian Lillard. With the former unavailable after his blockbuster trade to the Suns, the sights have shifted to Lillard.

“Miami’s focus is Portland superstar Damian Lillard with the genuine belief this could be the offseason the veteran guard seeks a change of scenery, league sources tell NBA on TNT and Bleacher Report,” tweeted NBA insider Chris Haynes.

Lillard averaged 32.2 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 7.3 APG for the Blazers this season. He could be an instant game-changer for any franchise, and it remains to be seen if he will be in the Miami colors for the 2023-24 season.
