Los Angeles Lakers’ latest import D’Angelo Russell seems to be already meshing well with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
In fact, he’s already comfortable sharing the hardwood with the superstar duo adding that it’s “super easy” playing with the two.
Speaking to the media after the Lakers pipped the New Orleans Pelicans 120-102, the guard shared his two cents on why it was easy to play alongside James and Davis:

“I think it’s just easy, super easy. Those guys play the right way the majority of the time. When your two best players are willing passers, selfless out there, and trying to play basketball out there. So, for me, I’d always want to be in that position. I’m usually that guy making that pass to the open guy, so to have LeBron out there knowing that he’s capable of doing it sounds like another point guard out there. I always say this. AD has so much gravity when he’s on the floor. It’s just about how I play with him and the guys is the main focus for me.”
The proof was in the pudding as he propped up 21 points and 7 assists against New Orleans, while also demonstrating his skills alongside James and Davis. This comes as good news for LA who revamped their roster to make the playoff push.

One of the instances was in the third quarter when he intercepted a turnover from CJ McCollum and then scoped the side of the floor while accurately passing the rock over to James who put down an easy basket.
The former Laker also seemed at ease settling in with his old team as he mouthed the words “back like I never left” after drilling a three-pointer.

Russell’s addition bolsters the offense for the Lakers — an area that they needed to address before the trade deadline. The hope is that he continues his production to assist James and Davis as the Lakers look for a postseason run.
LeBron James Calls D’Angelo Russell “A Crafty” Point Guard
It wasn’t just Russell who felt at consummate ease playing alongside James and Davis. James returned against the Pelicans after a three-game break because of a sore left foot and ankle, and the combination of him and Davis along with Malik Beasley and Jared Vanderbilt worked perfectly for the Lakers.
And the 38-year-old was pleased with the outcome. He finished with 21 points, 6 rebounds, and as many assists, but was happier about how the new-look side was shaping up. Speaking about Russell, he said (via ESPN):
“I know D-Lo is a really good, shifty point guard. He can space the floor. Very crafty. Very deceiving with his quickness, the way he plays the game.
The former Lakers No. 2 pick appears to have started off on the right note. But the Lakers will face stern tests in the weeks to come.
The NBA heads for a bit of a breather with the All-Star Weekend coming up, and the Lakers will have a chance to recalibrate before they take on the Golden State Warriors next week.
