D’Angelo Russell shared his thoughts on LeBron James’ Game 3 performance against the Golden State Warriors. And according to the point guard, it was more than the points that James would usually stack heavily.
“Bron is a guy that could dominate the game from so many different aspects,” Russell told reporters after the Lakers’ blowout 127-97 win, via ClutchPoints.
“Obviously, a regular fan will recognize scoring, dunking, and things like that but he still affects the game with passing, defense, and communication. All those little things that you don’t really see on the stat sheet, he still led us in a way that you might not see.
He added: “For me, it was just scoring tonight, next night might be passing so just take advantage of what they’re allowing us to have.” James ended Game 3 with just 21 points, but notched 8 rebounds and as many assists to complement Russell (21 points) and Anthony Davis (25 points).
It has been a relatively quiet postseason for the seasoned veteran as he averages 22.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 5.1 assists — a decline compared to his regular season numbers where he averaged 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists.
With the Lakers taking a 2-1 lead, the hope from James’ faithful will be that the superstar regains his mojo as the team looks to close out the series against the Golden State early. And Russell’s words come as a positive sign of that the team trusts James to come good in one way or another.

When asked about his thoughts on his future as a Laker, he kept it pretty crisp. “I would love to stay here, but I would have loved to be in Minnesota too. So wherever my feet are, that’s where I’m gonna be,” Russell said.
