Nikola Jokic was phenomenal in Game 4 vs. the Phoenix Suns. The two-time NBA MVP dropped 53 points, but still ended up on the losing side.

During the game, Jokic also made headlines for getting into a scuffle with Suns owner Mat Ishbia and a few fans. Upon seeing the incident, Patrick Beverley tweeted in support of the Denver Nuggets superstar.

“Fan hit Player, And ain’t nobody saying anything. #ProtectPlayers.”

After the game, Nikola Jokic was also left astounded by the incident. He shared his thoughts on how the league is supposed to protect the players, even if the incident involved an owner.

At the end of the day, when an owner is on the sidelines, they should be treated as a normal fan without any bias.

There are rumors that Jokic may receive a one-game suspension for elbowing Ishbia. But there is no confirmation of it as of now.

Michael Malone On Nikola Jokic’s Incident With Mat Ishbia

Nikola Jokic was handed a technical foul by the referees for his incident with the fans. But Jokic was only trying to retrieve the ball.

Keeping that in mind, Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone was left furious by his superstar getting a technical foul for the incident.

“I still am not sure of what happened, I haven’t seen the video of it. I think it’s crazy that Nikola got a technical foul in that situation. He’s going to get the ball, and some fan is holding onto the ball like he wants to be a part of the game. Just give the ball up, man. They deemed Nikola for doing something excessive and gave him a technical. I still don’t really understand it.”

Malone added that he ‘didn’t give a s**t’ about the fan being the owner of the Phoenix Suns.

The series is currently tied at 2-2, and if the Nuggets end up losing Game 5 as well, it would be time to hit the panic button. After all, it would be embarrassing for the number one seed in the Western Conference to blow a 2-0 lead.
