The Boston Celtics have easily been the strongest team in the NBA since the halfway mark of the season. They have been on an incredible 16-game run against playoff opposition where they have lost just one game which came against the Dallas Mavericks, another one of the NBA’s hottest teams since the All-Star break.

The Celtics were below .500 when they played their 41st game of the season, ending up with a 20-21 record at that point. However, since then, the Celtics have lost a total of 7 games with 26 wins. This has made them one of the most feared teams in the NBA, something even Eastern Conference rivals are admitting.

Philadelphia 76ers guard/forward Danny Green was on his podcast talking about the Celtics on his ‘Inside The Greenroom’ podcast, where he said the Celtics are a sleeper team that could very easily find themselves in the Eastern Conference Finals or even the NBA Finals.

“I think that’s a team that might be the sleeper that comes out or gets to the Eastern Conference Finals when people don’t expect them to because they’ve been hooping,” Green said. “They’ve been playing defense. Their offense has helped their defense because they’ve been playing a lot smoother, more together, which was interesting to me.” (h/t NBC Sports)

The Celtics are just a game out of becoming the #1 seed in the East, which will make this one of the best mid-season comebacks in NBA history. The team took a while to find their rhythm, but coach Ime Udoka has maximized the defensive potential of the roster at his disposal.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are playing incredible basketball and the Celtics are looking scary. Danny Green is an NBA veteran, so if he and his team are keeping a close eye on the Celtics, it shows how the league will be viewing them.
