Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are two of the closest players in the NBA. There has been a lot of drama around the Brooklyn Nets since they joined the team in 2019, but that hasn’t impacted their personal relationship, which seems stronger than ever.

Durant and Irving have been extremely mature in discussing the issues that had risen from Kyrie not being vaccinated and not having played home games all season. That issue caused James Harden to get out of dodge, but Durant stayed firm in his support of Kyrie.

Despite this deep bond that the two share, Durant forgot to get a gift for his teammate and good friend for his 30th birthday, where Irving scored 43 points in a loss against the Memphis Grizzlies. However, Durant also has a plan to remedy that situation as the Nets’ road trip continues.

“I dont know, he’d be appreciative of anything, but you know we are in Miami for two days lot of shopping down there.”

Even though it was Kyrie’s birthday and KD forgot to give him a gift, both players got a massive gift in the news that New York City will be lifting their vaccine mandate for private employees. This means Irving can finally start playing games in the Barclays Center again.

With the Nets having less than 10 games remaining this season, they need all the time they can get to flesh out Kyrie’s chemistry with Durant and the rest of the team. The Nets were looking play-in bound, but getting Kyrie for the final 9 games of the season may be crucial in giving them a final push to get over the top.

While they did lose to a Ja Morant-less Memphis Grizzlies with both stars on the court, everyone has to fancy the Nets’ odds with both players on the court. While this may not be a championship year for them anymore, this makes them one of the most dangerous teams in the Eastern Conference.
