The Los Angeles Lakers seemed to be in a bit of trouble in the second quarter of Game 3, as they were down by as many as 11 points to the Golden State Warriors.

LeBron James had also failed to score a point for a quarter and a half but head coach Darvin Ham wasn’t too worried, because of the team he has now.

“I would be worried earlier in the year,” Ham said. “But with the team we have now…they don’t have to just throw up bad shots in an attempt to get going.”

It does seem like a shot at Russell Westbrook, who has been accused plenty of times in the past of taking terrible shots during games. This isn’t the first time that Ham has seemingly thrown some shade at Russ, as he claimed the team was having fun after the trade deadline. While Westbrook and Ham tried their best to make it work earlier this season, it was clear the two sides needed to part ways.

The Trade Worked Out For Both Russell Westbrook And The Lakers

Westbrook eventually landed on Los Angeles Clippers and played well for them in these playoffs, averaging 23.6 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 7.4 APG, 1.2 SPG, and 1.4 BPG against the Phoenix Suns. There was a point earlier this season where there was talk of Westbrook potentially being out of the league soon, but it is safe to say that’s not going to happen.

Meanwhile, the pieces the Lakers got in return for Russ are a good fit next to LeBron and Anthony Davis. Together, the group quickly ate into that Warriors lead in this game, and the Lakers ended up leading by 11 points at half-time. They then took complete control in the third quarter to eventually register a crushing 127-97 win. The Lakers are now just two wins away from getting to the Western Conference Finals, something that was unimaginable at the start of the year.
