It hasn’t been the best season for Trail Blazers center Deandre Ayton, and that trend has continued this weekend after the latest post from adult film star Katt Leya, Ayton’s ex-girlfriend, went viral online. In a lengthy and passionate message, she announced her current status with Ayton and put him on blast for his apparent infidelity.

“So Im guessing this was all fake. Of course I end up looking like the fool the slut the bad guy. Im closing this chapter with you a coward. Why drag me along if you had other intentions, why involve my family the most sacred thing I have in my life…. take care of yourself before you go lying telling people you left me no I left you. I was reading the signs, left PDX and you proved to me that I was right all along.”

Things have been weird for Ayton since leaving the Suns. While he has embraced his new role with the Blazers so far, he hasn’t had the kind of dominant season some fans were hoping for. Instead, he’s been more of an afterthought in the offense and now he’s dealing with this personal drama that could further distract from his performance on the court.

A Fresh Start For Ayton

Drafted first overall in 2018, Deandre Ayton has long been viewed as one of the league’s most promising young bigs. At the height of his run with the Suns, he was a prized member of their frontcourt with averages of 18.2 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game on 54% shooting. He had his moments in the first few years, but his failure to consistently show up made him the odd man out in Phoenix. By the time Kevin Durant arrived last season, the writing was already on the wall for Ayton’s future and he was committed to forcing his way out.

In Portland, Ayton has been all smiles for the cameras and the media, but his performance hasn’t been up to par. Averaging a career-low 13.0 points per game this season, Ayton is currently trending down and it’s anyone’s guess if he can redeem himself before the end of the season.

A Season Of Relationship Drama

Regarding the situation between Ayton and his former partner, it’s sad to say that it’s just one of several broken NBA relationships right now. In the span of a few years, we’ve seen some crazy stuff from NBA players and their women, including a domestic violence case from Kevin Porter Jr., a wild cheating scandal involving Zion Williamson, and a strange rumor involving Austin Reaves and Taylor Swift.

Compared to some of those other situations, this Ayton drama is actually pretty tame but it does say a lot about where his head is at right now amid a new opportunity in Portland. If he can just focus on ball, and stay out of trouble off the court, Ayton could be in store for a major revenge season. Unfortunately for Ayton, it seems a similar comeback is not in the cards for his relationship with Katt Leya.
