Dennis Rodman is certainly one of the more interesting human beings on earth, to say the least. He is an eccentric character who just seems to raise eyebrows whenever he opens his mouth.
During a recent interview with DJ Vlad, Rodman spoke on his upbringing and admitted he was surprised he didn’t become gay after his sisters dressed him up as a girl.
“Oh man that was so gay,” Rodman said. “Every time I see them I say, ‘Oh lord’ it brings me back. There’s no male figure so they just dressed me as a girl and stuff like that. So I really didn’t fall into that mold, because I could have went in that direction but for some reason, I didn’t do that. I guess something changed in me when I started playing basketball.”
Rodman’s father left them when he was very young, so he grew up with his mother and two sisters. There was no male figure in his life as he stated and he perhaps could have gone a different direction if not for basketball. He would then go on later in his life to get to a point, where he felt he was having sex with so many women that it felt like it was a job.
Dennis Rodman Made An Appearance At The Houston Pride Month Parade
While Rodman is thankful life turned out the way it did for him, he doesn’t have an issue with the LGBTQ+ community. He has been one of the few former athletes who have supported them over the years, and he recently made an appearance at the 2023 Houston Pride Month Parade.
He chose to wear a short green skirt for the occasion, which raised quite a few eyebrows and it might have also reminded him of his childhood. Rodman also had a clear message to share with everyone from his appearance at the parade and that was, “Love Will Always Win.”
