Dillon Brooks’ Defense On LeBron James Shows The Real Truth: “26 Points With 61.1%… More Of A Gnat Than An Agitator”

Despite tall claims from Dillon Brooks about not being afraid of LeBron James, the King's numbers against his defense show the real truth.

The Los Angeles Lakers will take on the Memphis Grizzlies tonight in Game 3 of their first-round series. The Lakers took the first game, but the Grizzlies came back without Ja Morant to claim the second. And there is a very interesting undercurrent to the series at the moment.

After Game 2, Dillon Brooks came out and insulted LeBron James. He explained how he doesn’t respect any player that doesn’t drop 40 points on him, and called LeBron old while he was at it. While his fighting words sparked a lot of controversies, Brooks has been proved wrong by stats.

“Dillon Brooks’ comments about his defense on James aren’t based in reality,” Jovan Buha of The Athletic wrote. “According to NBA.com, James has scored 26 of his 49 points against Brooks, shooting a sizzling 61.1% against him. Brooks has been more of a gnat than an agitator.”

LeBron James has torched Dillon Brooks in the first two games of this series, even though his numbers aren’t massive. And it’s never a good idea to make the greatest players angry, especially in the middle of a playoff series. In all likelihood, LeBron will come out in Game 3 and prove to Brooks exactly why he has a legitimate case to be considered the GOAT.

LeBron James Didn’t Even Want To Address Dillon Brooks’ Comments

A lot of media members have called for LeBron James to destroy Dillon Brooks in response to his comments. Stephen A. Smith has been the foremost among them, saying it in as many words. Even Kendrick Perkins came out and spoke about how Brooks will come to regret his comments.

A great thing about LeBron James during his career has been that he doesn’t often respond to provocation with words. And when the media asked him about Brooks, his response was a blunt one. His disdain isn’t surprising though, his record against Dillon Brooks speaks for itself.

“I’m not here for the bullsh*t,” James said after flat-out refusing to talk about Brooks’ comments when asked about them.

The Los Angeles Lakers will play the next two games at home, and if they can win both, will give themselves a commanding 3-1 series lead. That is easier said than done, the Grizzlies are a very good team. But with a motivated LeBron James and a team feeling good about themselves, no one would bet against the Lakers.
