No matter how good they become, the Los Angeles Clippers will never supplant the Los Angeles Lakers as the primary team in the city. The Clippers have enjoyed a lot of success against the Lakers in recent seasons, and they even have big superstars of their own, yet their rivals show the difference between them in the simplest ways.

The Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers are participating in this season’s playoffs, playing at least two games at home. And while the price to watch the Clippers starts at $53, for the Lakers, it’s $264, nearly five times as much. This is despite the Clippers being a higher seed too.

Considering that the Lakers are one of the winningest franchises in NBA history, and the Clippers have never even made it to the Finals, this is not surprising. But for a couple of years now, they have been consistently better than the Lakers, even beating them with alarming regularity.

This seems to have made no difference to the level of interest that fans show the Clippers, they seem happy to pay a lot more to go watch the Purple and Gold. And Paul George and Kawhi Leonard’s absences certainly haven’t helped matters. At this point, the Clippers can’t get their arena soon enough, this is once again a cause of embarrassment for them.

The Clippers Think They Can Beat The Lakers In The Playoffs

The Los Angeles Lakers are a tough team to try and predict this season. On the one hand, they just about salvaged their season to get in as the 7th seed in the playoffs. On the other, they have a championship-winning duo leading the charge in LeBron James and Anthony Davis,

These two rivals have never met one another in the postseason, but if they do, Paul George seems to think that the Clippers can win. The only way they can face one another this season is if both somehow make it to the Western Conference Finals.

Kawhi Leonard’s injury probably has put paid to any of those plans, the Phoenix Suns could end up easily winning against them in current circumstances. Even the Los Angeles Lakers have a tough road ahead. It will be interesting to see if either can achieve something worthy of praise this season.
