Paul George is supremely confident of taking on the Los Angeles Lakers if they face off against the LA Clippers in the postseason, a series the NBA world has wanted to see for some time now.

George’s confidence stems from the fact that the Clippers have got the better of the Lakers 11 times on the trot over the last couple of editions. “We got their number right now,” George said on his latest episode of Podcast P.

“We just match up well against the Lakers. We got bodies to guard Bron. We got playmakers, we got scorers, we got defenders. We can kinda do multiple things to limit and give Bron a tough time. As good as he is, we got bodies over there so we give the Lakers a good run.”

The Lakers lost to the Clippers in all four encounters this season. And for the two teams to meet again in the playoffs, a few results need to go their way. George and the Clippers will need to beat the Phoenix Suns, while the Lakers will need to beat one of the top two seeds in the West for a potential matchup.

Paul George On The Clippers Rivalry With The Los Angeles Lakers

In related news, Paul George had earlier shed light on how the Clippers would switch on an additional gear when it comes to playing the Lakers. Ahead of both sides’ playing for the final time this regular season, the guard admitted that he and the team were hyped.

“Whether we like to admit it or not, we’re both hyped about it…There’s a present-day rivalry, and we definitely get up for those games,” George explained.

The Clippers will be hoping that George will suit up soon for the side. He was averaging 23.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.8 assists prior to his knee injury against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Earlier, there were reports of George expected to return by the time the Clippers would gear up for the second round. But with the Suns, the journey is far from easy.
