The Los Angeles Lakers play the Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in on Tuesday, in what they hope will be the game that vaults them into the NBA 2022-23 playoffs. But there is mixed news on the horizon.

LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and D’Angelo Russell — three of LA’s mainstays and starters have all been listed as probable ahead of the marquee matchup at the Crypto.com Arena. Lakers reporter Mike Trudell tweeted the announcement that also had an update on guard Dennis Schroder.

“LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and D’Angelo Russell are all listed as “probable” for tomorrow’s play-in game,” Trudell said. “Dennis Schröder is no longer on the injury report after missing the last two games.”

In a way, the report doesn’t come as a surprise considering all three have been a regular feature in the Lakers’ injury report for some time now. But given the magnitude of the game, all three players are expected to suit up against the short-handed Wolves.

Schroder missed the last two games due to neck spasms and Achilles soreness, respectively but has not been mentioned in the injury list, and that comes as good news for LA as his presence adds more teeth on both ends of the floor.

LeBron James Isn’t Taking The Minnesota Timberwolves Lightly

While the Lakers do enter the play-in as firm favorites, LeBron James isn’t one to take the opponents too lightly. According to The Athletic, “It’s different cause usually in the postseason, you have multiple days of prep for a team,” the forward said.

“But you literally have one day to prep. … For us, it’s just good that we don’t need to travel. We’ve traveled a lot lately. It’s good that we get to stay here, but we shouldn’t be comfortable. We have to stay on edge and get ready for the game.”

Earlier, the veteran had words of caution to his team about how the likes of Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns could be more than just a handful. It’s good to know that the Lakers aren’t complacent. After all the clawing back, they are primed to go the distance.

With all three Lakers stars set to play, expect some intense action when both teams face off on Tuesday.
