Draymond Green had a surprise for his fans at the end of the latest episode of ‘The Draymond Green Show’.

While to the other teams, the surprise was more of a statement that said, “Don’t let us win another f****** championship.”

The veteran and the Warriors finished their regular season campaign on a high by torching the Portland Trail Blazers 157-101. The massive win meant that Golden State finished sixth in the West with a 44-38 record and set up a first-round playoff date with the Sacramento Kings.

It’s safe to speculate that Green’s message wasn’t just for the Kings, who made the playoffs with some scintillating basketball this season. And while championship DNA and experience will hold the Warriors in good stead, there’s no discounting Sacramento who have been consistent so far.

Can The Golden State Warriors Defend Their Title?

To answer the question in one word might be tricky. As many reasons as the Warriors have in favor of defending their title, they have just as many that suggest they may see a first-round exit.

For starters, they will have Andrew Wiggins in their ranks when they gear up to face the Kings. This, coupled with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson’s stellar form, will be a nightmare for their opponents.

On the other hand, injuries and inconsistencies have been a constant for the unit, and should the series see an unfortunate injury to even one of the their core members, the Warriors campaign will wobble.

Earlier, Thompson threw down the gauntlet when he proclaimed that a healthy Golden State unit was impossible to be beaten. “I don’t see a team who can beat us in a 7-game series when we’re healthy.”

Both Thompson and Green have their reasons as to why the Warriors can defend their title. But they also will have to realize that they will be up against teams that are hungry for the championship. Only time will tell if Green can proudly wear that tee again.
