The Los Angeles Lakers finished the regular season as the 7th seed in the Western Conference, and they could potentially end up in the playoffs this year. If they win their play-in tournament game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, they will face the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs.

Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks recently claimed that he would be willing to face LeBron James in the first round. He noted that the matchup would “test” the Grizzlies, noting that the Lakers have “good pieces” and “good players.”

“I wouldn’t mind playing LeBron in a 7-game series,” said Brooks. “The legacy is there. First time back in the playoffs, knock him out right away in the first round. It’ll test us good. They got good pieces, good players, and that’ll be a good 1st round matchup for us.”

To win on the highest stage, one must go through the best players, and it is clear that Dillon Brooks understands this. Winning against LeBron James would be an amazing start to the Grizzlies’ playoff run as well and could galvanize them for the battles to come.

LeBron James has been having a stellar season with the Los Angeles Lakers this year, so defeating him won’t be easy for the Memphis Grizzlies in a potential matchup. He has been averaging 28.9 PPG, 8.3 RPG, and 6.3 APG this season, and the Grizzlies will definitely have to figure out a way to slow him down if they are to win.

Stephen A. Smith Believes The Grizzlies Will Beat The Lakers In The First Round

The Memphis Grizzlies are clearly a talented team, and there’s no doubt that they have the firepower to potentially get to the NBA Finals. Stephen A. Smith is an analyst that is confident in the team and has them beating the Lakers.

“The Lakers could end up home in the first round,” Smith said on ESPN’s First Take. “Let’s just call it what it is. We want to applaud the Lakers for what they have done this year. They’ve got a chance. I’m not gonna sit here and tell you that they don’t have a chance. They got LeBron James. … Anthony Davis showed up. We know what he’s capable of when he’s on the basketball court.”

It remains to be seen if the Los Angeles Lakers will even end up making the playoffs, as there is still a chance that they will get eliminated from the play-in tournament. With that being said, they have a pretty good chance of beating the Minnesota Timberwolves in Crypto.com Arena, and their path to the playoffs seems pretty clear.
