The Houston Rockets have huge plans for the 2023 NBA free agency. The Texan franchise has entered a new era after a couple of years of trying to develop young talent. This next season can see a lot of changes within the organization, especially after Ime Udoka took over as head coach.
That said, the Rockets are reportedly preparing a bunch of moves once free agency starts. According to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicles, via Evan Sidery, they have a list of over 10 players to pursue in the free market.
Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez from the Milwaukee Bucks; Fred VanVleet from the Toronto Raptors; Bruce Brown from the Denver Nuggets; Cam Johnson from the Brooklyn Nets; Jordan Clarkson from the Utah Jazz, Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura from the Los Angeles Lakers; Dillon Brooks from the Memphis Grizzlies, Donte DiVincenzo from the Golden State Warriors and Jakob Poeltl from the San Antonio Spurs are all linked with the Rockets this offseason.
The Rockets plan to pursue the following free agents next week, per @Jonathan_Feigen (https://t.co/YAVKPZGHBR):

The list includes some powerhouses too, with James Harden still on the radar of the team, and Draymond Green another potential target for the Rockets.
They will have $60 million in cap space this summer, which could help them land a couple of pieces to become a competitive team once again. With their young players ready to reach new levels, and a coach like Udoka who can maximize his opportunities, the Rockets are a very appealing landing spot for free agents.
It remains to be seen if they can make a couple of these moves and place themselves as a top team in the Western Conference.
James Harden Remains A Mystery For The Rockets
James Harden has been linked with a return to Houston since last year. He’s entering free agency as one of the best players available, and the Rockets want to reunite with him. Harden, however, is yet to make a decision on his future.
Zion Williamson was linked with the Rockets amid his controversies, but everything appears to have changed now.
Kyrie Irving was also mentioned as a potential target for Houston, but nothing has happened so far. This is a very interesting team for a lot of free agents, and if the front office makes the right move, the Rockets could become a terrific team ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season.
