Draymond Green has been a crucial member of the Golden State Warriors during their incredible run, winning four NBA championships in six trips to the NBA Finals.

However, rumors have it that Green could leave the team soon and end his memorable tenure with the Dubs.

“Collateral damage still feels inevitable. That could come in the form of a Poole trade over the summer. But it could—it might—manifest with Green shopping around for more lucrative opportunities than Golden State is prepared to offer.”

Dan Favale of Bleacher Report listed Green as a free agent that could realistically change teams this season. He explains that just like Klay Thompson, Green isn’t getting any younger, and the Warriors’ front office might be forced to pick between one of them.

“Green just turned 33. Ditto for Klay Thompson, who will be entering the final year of his deal next season. Steph turns 35 on March 14. The Warriors have also already recommitted to Poole and Andrew Wiggins. They might be flush, but are they flush enough to carry $24-plus million salaries for five players?”

Favale adds that three teams could be Dray’s next home, mentioning the Los Angeles Lakers among them. The Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers could be suitors for his services, too.

Draymond Green Criticized For His Relationship With LeBron James

Green is still focused on helping the Warriors achieve big things in the NBA, but this season hasn’t been the best for them. They keep struggling on the road, posting a terrible 7-26 record as visitors.

The big man has become a very good friend of LeBron James, even raising eyebrows around the league, and this could help him join the Lakers in the offseason.

Some say Green punching Jordan Poole in the face during training camp ruined the chemistry for this team, but the team still hopes to find their way and defend the 2022 NBA championship.

Should they leave the playoffs in the first round, the Warriors could blow it up and see what they can do next season. Their Big 3 of Green, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson could be living his last days together, but we have to wait to see if that becomes a reality.
