There are a lot of factors that make a player or a star effective in the NBA. But one that fans tend to value over a lot of others is ‘clutchness’ or the ability to step up at the end of close games to lead a team to victory.

Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James, the biggest stars in the game, have enjoyed some incredibly clutch moments in their careers. And fans of the league recently debated who the most clutch player ever might be.

Players like Dirk Nowitzki, Ray Allen, and Reggie Miller made it to the graphic alongside other more established Top 10 players of all time. Here’s a look at what fans had to say:

“Give the rock to Kobe and get out of the way.”

“Kobe and it’s not even close.”

“If I had to pick one player to take a shot to save a game, I’d pick Michael Jordan.”

“Who consistently made great plays in the last few minutes to win 6 rings? MJ.”

“I don’t care about the stats. MJ, Kobe, Dame, Reggie, and Vince Carter scared me the most.”

“You should include Vince Carter.”

“Ray Allen. If it wasn’t for him, LBJ wouldn’t have that ring.”

“Jordan by a country mile.”

“Kawhi and Rose are underrated picks.”

“The LeBron slander here is ridiculous, or did y’all forget about the block?”

“LeBron, he never had any help.”

All of these answers have their merits, and it’s hard to determine just one star as being the most clutch player of all time. Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan seem to be the popular answers though, and with their mentality, it’s not hard to see why that is the case.

LeBron James Has A Strong Case For Being Considered The Most Clutch Modern NBA Star

LeBron James is someone that often gets talked down on when it comes to clutch ability. But the stats tell the truth, and a major one is that no player has made more clutch shots in the last 30 seconds of playoff games since 1997 than he has. Other stars do have a lot more support in this argument.

Our writer, Kyle Daubs, ranked the 20 most clutch players in NBA history, and it breaks down this whole debate using stats and facts. The one certain thing is that every player on this list has proved that they can be trusted with the ball when an NBA game comes down to the very last seconds.
