Stephen Curry will go down in history as the greatest shooter in NBA history. But even shooters like him have games where their shot is just not falling, as Curry realized in the Warriors 118-114 win over the Blazers.

Curry went 0-8 from three, ending a 268-game streak of made three-pointers, stretching back to November 8, 2018. Fans were shocked to see this happen.

Many Warriors fans were devastated to see the record come to an end.

the longest active streak now belongs to Damian Lillard with 101 games, showing that nobody is really close to him when it comes to this record.

Many fans were happy to see Curry finally have a hard time shooting.

Most fans did recognize how incredible the record is, calling it unbreakable.

Unbreakable record though! 🔥

Fans changed it from a negative to a positive by acknowledging we should be celebrating one of the greatest streak in NBA history.

We should be celebrating this
This is insane

A lot of fans rejoiced given how potent Curry’s shooting has been his entire career.

Curry ended the night with just seven points, a season-low for the four-time champion. The last game he didn’t make a three-pointer came against the Spurs in November 2018 where he played just two minutes and exited due to injury. Curry has just 40 games with no made threes in his career, and his 268-game streak of making three-pointers was the longest in NBA history.

The streak technically ended during Game 5 of the NBA Finals, where Curry went blank from three-point range in a 10-point Warriors win. It had existed for 226 games at that point, but this is a regular-season streak that ended tonight.

Whether Curry can play five more seasons to try and win this record back is unclear, so we may have just seen the end of one of the greatest shooting streaks in NBA history.

Stephen Curry Getting The Help He Needs

After a season plagued with his teammates not showing up and sharing the load, the Warriors responded in the best way possible to a historically bad shooting night from Curry. Klay Thompson led the Warriors offensively with 28 points, breaking out of his early-season slump for some big games. He’s currently averaging 22.2 points over the last five Warriors games, in line with his season averages from last season.

Andrew Wiggins hasn’t found his feet at the same level as Klay but had a great game tonight, dropping 25 points off the bench and showing flashes of the player who was an All-Star in 2022 and arguably the second-most important player of their championship run.

Draymond Green is on indefinite suspension, but that setback seems to have brought the Warriors together as they’re looking to break out of the bottom five in the Western Conference. Tonight’s win improves their record to 12-14, though they’re still two games behind the tenth-seeded Phoenix Suns that barely escaped with a win against the 4-21 Washington Wizards.

Given the depth of the West this season, the Warriors can’t take any team falling out of the top 10 for granted. All the team’s ahead of them have winning intentions, with possibly the Memphis Grizzlies trying to join the top-10 mix after Ja Morant’s return. The competition is stiff and could get stiffer if the trade market allows teams ahead of them to strengthen.

Stephen Curry is averaging 28.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.4 assists this season. He hopes to leave this performance behind him and move on to help the Warriors reach .500 before the year is up.
