Hip-hop legend Cam’ron made his intentions to go out with Nia Long clear after adequate time had passed from her highly public split with Rockets head coach Ime Udoka. After letting the world know how he feels about her on a past episode of ‘It Is What It Is’, Cam’ron shared on Instagram that he and Nia finally went on a date.

“He want the scoop, she want the tea, I can not talk, we keeping it street!! Nia Long aka Ni-Amore.”

Cam’ron had sent an impassioned message to Nia that he had revealed to all his fans, where he called her ‘Ni-Amore’ and admired her strength as a Black woman to have gotten through everything she’s faced since the Udoka scandal.

“Hey stink. I Was giving you some time to yourself till I reached out. Your perseverance as a strong black woman through this turbulent time has been something to behold. You shouldn’t be taken advantage of and exploited as you did nothing to deserve this. Especially all over these sports networks. You’re bigger and better then that. You’re a queen, and by the way l’m a king. Together we can achieve the greatness we were both destine for as a couple. (Une Vie a Vivre) that means ‘we have one life to live’ pardon my French lol. As I sit here sipping gazpacho and watching ‘the best man’ I was inspired to reach out, because that’s what I am the best man for you!! Hope to hear from you soon my Mi- amour or should I say ‘Ni-amour.’

Her long-time relationship with Ime Udoka fell apart after Udoka had an affair with the wife of a high-ranking Celtics official during the season he led the franchise to the NBA Finals. Udoka was promptly suspended by Boston before being sacked, opening him up to join the Houston Rockets after spending a season out of the league.

Nia Long has claimed that she’s raising her children with Udoka without the presence of a father due to his neglectful behavior. Given how Long is one of the most iconic Black actors of the modern era, it makes sense that people like Cam’ron were waiting to show her the respect she deserves in a relationship after negative experiences with Udoka towards the end of their courtship.

Ime Udoka Excelling In His Professional Life

For all the failings that Udoka has had to go through in his personal life over the last 18 months, there’s no questioning what he’s been able to do as an NBA coach. He already proved his worth in his rookie head coach season with the Celtics, helping the team overcome a slow start to the season and go all the way to the NBA Finals, where they were outmatched by the Golden State Warriors.

His former assistant Joe Mazzulla is trying to replicate that success and is solid in the regular season but was criticized heavily after their 2023 playoff collapse. Udoka, on the other hand, joined one of the worst franchises of the last three seasons and agreed to become the head coach of the Houston Rockets.

The years of tanking already look to be in the rear-view mirror, as Udoka has transformed the Rockets into a genuine playoff-contending team. They have one of the best home records in the NBA (11-1) and currently sit in the playoff mix with a 13-10 record and the 9th seed.
