Giannis Antetokounmpo: “Kobe Bryant Told Me To Sacrifice If I Want To Win And Be Great.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo is doing some incredible things with his NBA career, including winning two back-to-back MVP awards with the Milwaukee Bucks. The Greek Freak has turned himself into one of the best players in the association right now and he doesn’t seem to be stopping there. He’s still young and has a lot of room to improve for the next years.

He was seen as a skinny player when he first arrived in the league and now is one of the future faces of the NBA after his performances with the Bucks. Giannis has always wanted to be great and he’s working to achieve that. Part of his inspiration, though, comes from none other than Kobe Bryant, who gave him a big message when he was trying to reach a high level in the association.

While talking with Cosmote TV, Giannis said:

“Kobe told me to sacrifice if I want to win and be great. LeBron is the best in the world, MVP is another story, I can tell that he is the best and my idol, he is 17 years in the League”.

Back in the day, Kobe issued a challenge for Antetokounmpo, asking him to win the MVP award. He didn’t win that season but Giannis has fulfilled his promise in the past two NBA seasons. Now he’s looking to win that first NBA ring with Milwaukee and this season will be crucial for him.

He’s been linked with a lot of teams around the league but Giannis doesn’t seem too interested to join any team right now. In fact, he claimed that players like LeBron James, Anthony Davis and even Kevin Durant are more than welcome to join him in Milwaukee.

That’s a very unlikely possibility but Giannis is making it clear that he’s not planning to leave Wisconsin right now.
