The Milwaukee Bucks could make a big splash this offseason and land a big star to join Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday.
Bradley Beal was named a potential target for the Bucks in recent days, and according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Antetokounmpo ‘loves the idea’ of sharing touches with the shooting guard (40:33 mark).
“I know that Giannis has had a love, the idea of pairing with Bradley Beal has appealed to Giannis in the past,” Windhorst said on his podcast. “I think if you’re Bradley Beal, you look at the opportunity to go to Milwaukee. You’d love that opportunity. But I don’t see how it structurally happens with what the Bucks already have on their roster and their commitments.”
The Bucks have some questions to answer this offseason regarding free agents. Khris Middleton has a player option and Brook Lopez is an unrestricted free agent. These are the two names that cause concern within the organization.
Middleton has been dealing with injuries in the past couple of seasons, and this could prompt the Bucks to reconsider giving him a hefty contract. He only played 33 games with the Bucks, posting 15.1 points, 4.9 assists and 4.2 rebounds.
As for Lopez, he’s played his way to a big contract, but the Bucks need to make a decision on keeping him on the roster or not. He averaged 15.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 2.5 blocks in 78 games with the Bucks this campaign.
All these situations make it hard for the Bucks to think of trading for Beal, but the idea sounds very exciting on paper.
Milwaukee Bucks Will Talk With Beal And His Agent This Offseason
Still, the Bucks will try to work a way to get Beal’s services this offseason, and according to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, they will talk with the player and his agent soon, as the Wizards granted them permission to speak with teams interested in Beal’s services.
Adding Beal to the roster would be a major upgrade for Milwaukee, but we still need to wait to see how this saga unfolds, as other teams like the Miami Heat have been mentioned in trade rumors involving the shooting guard.
