The Antetokounmpo family has bred champions so far. Giannis Antetokounmpo has become one of the premier superstars in the NBA and has won almost every conceivable high-level accolade in the NBA. Whereas Kostas and Thanasis Antetokounmpo have also been part of teams that have gone on to win NBA championships.
As a family, their legacy is already secured as one of the biggest familial dynasties in the history of the NBA. And it looks like they will be adding to that legacy with yet another member of the family; Alex Antetokounmpo.
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s youngest brother Alex has declared for the 2021 NBA Draft. He is being looked at as one of the underrated prospects going into this year’s draft. So much so, that the Indiana Pacers even invited Alex Antetokounmpo to have a pre-draft workout with the rest of the team. Usually, if NBA franchises invite prospects for a workout before a draft, it means that they have some interest in the player.

If the Pacers do end up selecting Alex Antetokounmpo, he will become the fourth Antetokounmpo brother to join the NBA, and make the Pacers the third team in the league with a member of an Antetokounmpo family, with Kostas with the Lakers, and Giannis and Thanasis with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Whichever team does select Alex Antetokounmpo, they will be hoping that he will have a similar career trajectory to that of Giannis. Giannis was a sleeper pick in the first round during the 2013 NBA Draft. Since then, he has gone on to be the standout player from his draft class.
And if Alex can accomplish a modicum of what his brother has been able to do so far in the NBA, his future team would be very happy about their selection. But his career will truly begin this Friday when the 2021 NBA Draft takes place.
