After winning the title in 2022, the Golden State Warriors were feeling pretty good about the future. With Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and young sharpshooter Jordan Poole, the Dubs had every reason to think that they’d be running through the West for years to come.

This past season had other plans for the Warriors, and Poole’s production saw a major dip on both ends of the floor. Now, after an abysmal postseason, teams across the league are calling about Poole with the hope that he has been made available by the Warriors.

“Golden State is also getting calls on Kuminga, they’re getting calls on Jordan Poole,” Spears reported on NBA Today. “They have the 19th pick in next week’s draft. So Mike Dunleavy Jr. isn’t getting no training wheels going into this job.”

Jordan was borderline unplayable for the Warriors, but he’s still a guy with loads of potential. At just 23 years old, Poole averaged a career-high 20.4 points per game on 43% shooting and he showed some flashes of his playmaking and ball-handling skills.

But the biggest question for JP at this point is his behavior in the locker room It’s no secret that his incident with Draymond Green last summer caused a massive rift and he was seemingly never the same again.

Did Poole Play His Final Season With The Warriors?

Considering his history with the team, Jordan Poole makes the most sense as someone to trade if you’re the Warriors. Not only would he net a solid return, but his exit may help ease tensions in the locker room after a drama-filed campaign.

“I think some of that was lost this year, for sure,” Kerr said when asked about the Warriors’ ethos in terms of culture, joy, and chemistry. “There’s no hiding from it, the incident with Draymond and Jordan at the beginning of the year played a role in that. It’s hard for that not to impact a team.”

While JP may have worn out his welcome in Golden State, his skills would be useful for plenty of teams across the association. By the time it’s all said and done, don’t be surprised if Poole is one of the bigger names moved this summer.
