At the end of his 20th season, LeBron James finds himself reconsidering his entire NBA future. At this stage of his career, the King has nothing left to accomplish, and his legacy as one of the all-time greats is already etched in stone. Of course, the end isn’t too far off now for James and it’s why he teased retirement after being swept by the Nuggets last month.

Since his teams’ elimination weeks ago, Bron has kept mostly to himself aside from a few viral moments. But on Friday, the Lakers star went viral on Instagram after calling out his critics while on a trip in Europe.

“In Europe for the last past few weeks minding my business and I hear I’m on your mind that much huh??? I mean I guess I see why. But Wave the flag on these lames!! Please make being player cool again cause the lame machine is at an all-time high. Enjoy your light but just know I’m the SUN. I stay on forever!”

It’s impossible to be certain what LeBron is responding to here, but fans were quick to mention some of the statements made by the newly crowned NBA champions.

Since winning the title, several members of the Nuggets have made it a point to trash-talk the Lakers and draw attention to their embarrassing Conference Finals performance. At one point, head coach Michael Malone even appeared to mock LeBron himself by joking about considering retirement.

“Speaking of the Lakers, I just want you guys to know, this is breaking news: I’m thinking about retiring,” said Malone on the Pat McAfee show.

Whether or not LeBron was referencing these comments in his post, something is obviously bothering him enough to where he feels the need to address it publicly.

Can The Lakers Get Revenge?

When it comes to LeBron James, it’s never wise to count him out. Even after this season’s disastrous run, and talks about hanging it up for good, James is good enough to keep LA in title contention and you can bet he’ll be putting pressure on the front office to make some big moves before it’s too late.

Maybe, with some roster tweaks, good health, and a lot of luck, the Lakers can make amends for their failures and make the Nuggets pay for their disrespect. Until then, there’s not much that LeBron can do about it but take note and use it as fuel for a busy offseason.
