The Boston Celtics will be playing a Game 7 on the road in Miami later today, and there’s no doubt that this is a must-win game, as is every Game 7. Many expected them to close out the series against the Miami Heat during Game 6 in Boston, but that didn’t end up happening. They do, however, have a chance to win the series once again.

Reddit user DrSagittarius has recently revealed a fun fact about the Finals if they were not to involve the Boston Celtics. If the Boston Celtics don’t end up making the Finals, then that will mark the first time that the Finals will not involve any member of the All-NBA first team since 1990.

Last time was between the Blazers and Pistons in 1990, and All NBA first team was made up of:

F: Charles Barkley, Philadelphia 76ers

F: Karl Malone, Utah Jazz

C: Patrick Ewing, New York Knicks

G: Michael Jordan, Chicago Bulls

G: Magic Johnson, Los Angeles Lakers

2021-22 FIRST TEAM:

F: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks

F: Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics

C: Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets

G: Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns

G: Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks

Stephen Curry was on the All-NBA second team this year, and Jimmy Butler didn’t make an All-NBA team this year. Both players are the best players on their respective franchises. While that Finals matchup would certainly be interesting, but as the Reddit user suggested, none of the All-NBA first team members will be playing if that were the case.

Many believe that the Boston Celtics could potentially win the NBA championship this year. However, that won’t happen if they are unable to win Game 7. Hopefully, we see Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown show up for the C’s, and perhaps we’ll end up seeing them advance to the Finals after all.
