Superstar Ja Morant is one of the best point guards in the league, and there’s no doubt that he’s an insane talent. However, a lot of discussion about him has been regarding his recent Instagram Live gun incident, rather than his play on the court.

Recently, NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski revealed that Ja Morant would remain away from the Memphis Grizzlies for the next four games. It is also possible that his absence will extend even beyond this period. Some have speculated that he could be away from the team for many weeks.

There is no doubt that Ja Morant was in the wrong for brandishing a firearm on his Instagram Live. However, he will have a chance to come back stronger from this, and he should avoid situations like this in the future.

Ja Morant has put up 27.1 PPG, 6.0 RPG, and 8.2 APG for the Memphis Grizzlies this season, and there’s no doubt that he was having a stellar season prior to this incident. Hopefully, this incident won’t jeopardize his career, and we’ll see what the team’s approach to this situation will be, and how it will change as more details are revealed.

There Is No Official Timetable On Ja Morant’s Return

It definitely seems as though Ja Morant could miss an extended period of time for the Memphis Grizzlies. In fact, coach Taylor Jenkins said that putting a timetable on his return would be disrespectful.

“It’s a healing process,” said Jenkins. “If everyone expects something to change overnight, we’ve got to be due diligence and respectful on that. We’re talking about Ja being in a better place… To put a timetable on it is disrespectful.”

Hopefully, we do see Ja Morant come back at some point this season, but obviously, that might not happen given the nature of the situation. The team’s best bet is likely to try and proceed as though they will not be getting the point guard back, no matter how tough that may be.

We will see what other updates are provided regarding the Ja Morant situation in the future. It doesn’t seem as though the star is in any legal trouble at this point, as the Colorado Police have closed their investigation into the point guard. However, league penalties are a whole different issue, and we’ll likely see them reach a decision on what to do in the coming weeks.
