Zion Williamson is one of the best young talents in the NBA, and many enjoy watching him bulldoze his way to the rim for dunks and layups. However, there have been many questions about whether he can stay healthy to reach his ultimate potential.

A recent report revealed that Zion Williamson will miss a minimum of two more weeks with a hamstring injury. This has been an issue that has kept Williamson out for quite some time, and it seems as though the New Orleans Pelicans will have to wait to get their big man back. They are currently the 10th seed in the Western Conference.

There is no doubt that talent is not in question with Zion Williamson. However, it is fair to raise concerns about his availability. Hopefully, the star figures out how to stay on the court, and if that happens, he will be a dominant player for years to come.

Zion Williamson has been elite in the games he played with the New Orleans Pelicans this season, averaging 26.0 PPG, 7.0 RPG, and 4.6 APG. Hopefully, he gets back sooner rather than later, and we’ll see what ends up happening in the future.

Zion Williamson Has Been Compared To Shaquille O’Neal

Zion Williamson’s physical dominance has previously earned him some comparisons to Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal. Rick Carlisle once called him a “Shaquille O’Neal-type force of nature” with point guard abilities.

“He’s an unusual force and obviously a great player,” Carlisle said… “We’ll have to figure something a little better out next time, but he’s doing this to everybody… he was a beast.
It presents huge challenges for the defense and for officials. He is just creating collisions out there. This is a Shaquille O’Neal-type force of nature with a point guard skill set.”

Though obviously, Zion Williamson has not accomplished as much as Shaquille O’Neal, it is easy to see why the comparisons are being made. Hopefully, he can have that sort of legendary career, and he definitely has a high ceiling as a player.

This has been a disappointing season for Zion Williamson, and it is unfortunate that he’s missed so much time. However, if he works on improving his durability and overall conditioning in the summer, then perhaps the New Orleans Pelicans can be a dangerous team next season.
