Ja Morant was willing to be the ultimate team man for the Memphis Grizzlies. The guard told the team that he was willing to come off the bench upon his return from suspension.

ESPN’s Tim MacMahon took to Twitter to report the development amid news of Morant expected to play Wednesday against the Houston Rockets. “Ja Morant has told the team he’s willing to come off the bench as he returns from suspension and his minutes are gradually increased to normal. Taylor Jenkins said that is being considered tomorrow vs. Rockets,” the tweet read.

The Grizzlies have won six of the nine games Morant has missed, and that comes as good news for a side that’s gunning for a championship this season. While his return certainly bolsters the team’s offense, it remains to be seen if Jenkins considers gradually increasing the point guard’s minutes.

The team is placed second in the West with a 44-27 record, and with 11 games left in the season, Memphis can gradually ease Morant in and have him at his optimal best during the playoffs.

Ja Morant Says He Will Be Off Social Media Following His Instagram Live Debacle

It does appear that Ja Morant has realized the consequences of his actions and has looked to make amends immediately. Earlier, the 23-year-old said he would stay off social media following his Instagram Live controversy that landed him in soup.

Ahead of his imminent return, Morant told Landon Buford that he would keep his distance from social media. “I won’t be doing that at all. Me saying things, actions speak louder than words. That’s my main focus right now. Obviously super excited to be back with my teammates.”

It is definitely a wise move by Morant as he and the Grizzlies stake their claim for their maiden NBA title.

They have been one of the more impressive teams in the West since the start of the season, and his return comes as a boon for him and the team to get back to fulfilling their objective. And hopefully, his troubled days are behind him as he looks to recalibrate.
