There was a time when Michael Jordan was the biggest fan of Adidas. So much so that he didn’t even want to take a meeting with Nike.
Over the years, Jordan’s love for Nike has only grown, and he also has his own signature shoe line under the name of the ‘Jordan Brand.’ Evidently, MJ wants athletes to wear his shoes. Speaking of which, Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green recently shared a story about his first meeting with Jordan during an episode of ‘Podcast P with Paul George.’
“I got a crazy story. I went to a Michael Jordan camp in San Diego,” Greens said. “I’m walking to practice from the dorm. I got like, high socks on up to my knees, baggy shorts. My swag was terrible. I got Adidas slides on, and he just walked over to me and was like, ‘You need to take them weaka** Adidas slides off.’ I looked back, I’m like, ‘What you mean?’ He said, ‘You need to get some Jordan slides.’ I said, ‘Give me some.’
“So he brought me some Jordan slides. I’m a little a** kid, though, and he talking about ‘Get rid of them weak a** slides.’ I’m minding my business. I’m happy, walking by myself. I was hella excited cause my mom in the stands. I ran up to my mom real quick. I’m like, ‘Mom, I just talked to Jordan.’ Mind you, she talking a picture the whole time. She was like, ‘I know, I seen.'”

Now, that’s a wild story. Jalen Green may have been offered some Jordans by ‘His Airness’ himself, but that didn’t stop his love for Adidas.
He signed with Adidas in 2021. It turned out to be a great decision by the sneaker company as Green took the leap in his sophomore season. He averaged 22.1 PPG, 3.7 RPG, and 3.7 APG in the 2022-23 NBA season.
While Green may be sponsored by Adidas right now, he will certainly never forget meeting Michael Jordan during the San Diego training camp. Keeping that in mind, it would be best for him to avoid wearing Adidas if he gets to meet Jordan in the future.
Jalen Green Is Skeptical About James Harden Signing With The Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets have a young core of stars, including Jalen Green. They are currently in a rebuilding phase and wouldn’t want to hurry things up to ruin the growth of their future stars.
But there have been constant rumors about James Harden seeking a potential move back to the Rockets this offseason. Well, Green believes it would be a double-edged sword for the franchise. And Paul George agreed with the 21-year-old.
PG13 pointed out that bringing Harden back to Houston could hinder Green’s growth. Of course, Harden is still a decent player, but he is no longer the superstar he once was.
So if the Rockets make a desperate move to bring back the Beard, it could do them more harm than good.
