Jalen Green agreed with Paul George that a potential James Harden reunion with the Houston Rockets could hamper the young shooting guards’ game and could work as a double-edged sword.

Speaking to the LA Clippers star on the latest episode of Podcast P, Green agreed that a ball-dominant player like Harden could hamper his growth.

“There’s obviously been some links of James [Harden] wanting to come back to the team,” George said. “I feel like at this point you’re the king of Houston. You gotta go through being double-teamed, being triple-teamed, and being the target every time.”

“And you bring someone like James who’s such a ball-dominant player, that’s gonna hinder your growth a little bit. Regardless of how it can elevate you on another level of him teaching you, and you learning off of him, I feel like, for you, you have already been through the fire, so let you continue to learn, you know what I mean?”

To which the 21-year-old agreed. “I think it can play both ways. It can help and hurt at the same time. I haven’t really talked to him too much about the rumors, I’m with you on that.”

Green’s comments come on the back of heavy speculations of that Harden was series about his return to Houston. According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, James Harden is ‘very serious’ about returning to Houston.”

Harden had a great stint with the Philadelphia 76ers averaging 21.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 10.6 assists in his two seasons with the side. However, his Game 7 against the Boston Celtics in the second round of the playoffs was beyond poor and was part of the reason why Philly lost.

Meanwhile, Green has been a rising star in the Rockets fold, averaging 22.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists this season. While the guard will certainly benefit from someone like Harden’s experience, he will also be required to handle the ball less, with the former becoming the scoring focal point. How this pans out is anyone’s guess.

Jalen Green Could Be Traded By The Rockets

Amid all these developments, there have been rumors that Green could be shipped this summer by Houston to acquire star power.

According to Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer, the franchise “addressed the idea of including [Green], the No. 2 pick in the 2021 NBA draft, as part of a package for acquiring established star talent.” Now this would mean that Green could be sacrificed for Harden, but given his thoughts, maybe that move may actually work in his favor.

It will be an interesting summer in Houston, that’s for sure.
