The Philadelphia 76ers managed to miraculously upset the Boston Celtics in Game 1, with the score finishing 119-115. James Harden notably had an insane performance, putting up 45 points while shooting 56.6% from the field.

After the game, James Harden was caught telling his teammates that this is only one game, and it is clear that the guard is remaining locked in. Ultimately, the job is not finished until one wins the championship, and Harden knows that.

“It’s 1 game, bro. It’s 1 game,” said Harden.

It is clear that James Harden will have to step up and carry the load for the Philadelphia 76ers, as Joel Embiid might be out for the foreseeable future. It is clear that he’s up to the challenge, and perhaps we’ll see more of “vintage Harden” in this series.

In the 2023 playoffs, James Harden averaged 22.8 PPG, 4.6 RPG, and 8.2 APG. Hopefully, we see him elevate his scoring further, and the 76ers will need every bit of his offensive production.

James Harden Has Clapped Back At People Who Criticize His New Playing Style

Over the course of this season, James Harden has been criticized a lot for not looking for his own shot. After his recent game against the Celtics, he clapped back at the haters, pointing out the double standards when it comes to his playing style

“Throughout the entire year, people expect me to be the scoring James Harden and the James Harden that goes out there and gets 40, 50 points. And then people talk: ‘Oh, you can’t win like that. And then I’ll go out there and get 20 points and 11 assists. And it’s like, ‘Well, he’s not the old James Harden no more.'”

At the end of the day, James Harden has shown tremendous adaptability. It is natural for his scoring to have gone down due to him being the No. 2 option next to Joel Embiid, but this game shows that he still has that No. 1 option gear in the reserves.

Even if the Boston Celtics win Game 2, James Harden did his job and helped his team steal one game on the road. The key will be winning both home games in Philadelphia, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
