After another subpar season for Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers, the front office is under more pressure than ever before to build an elite contender around their franchise star.
Could Jaylen Brown be part of the equation? According to NBA Insider Jake Fischer, Brown has been a name on Lilllard’s list for a while now and the Blazers could make a run at him this offseason.
“I’ll say this, Jaylen Brown is a player that Damian Lillard has had on his list.”

The Trail Blazers will need more than Jaylen Brown and Lillard to compete for a championship, but swapping some of their guys for Brown would certainly be a great start to set things right. Besides being an elite perimeter defender, Jaylen brings exceptional shooting and scoring ability which should be enhanced by Dame’s long-range shot-making.
So, for Portland, it’s a no-brainer to make a move for Jaylen Brown if he’s available. But the question is, will the Celtics ever let it get to that point?
Does Jaylen Want Out Of Boston?
`The Celtics have been wildly successful with the Brown/Tatum duo, but Jaylen has been dropping hints that he’d be open to a change of scenery.
“Something is going on in that locker room or in that organization because he is giving me all the signs that he wants out of Boston,” said Kendrick Perkins. “Whether it’s him addressing the fanbase, whether it’s him basically talking about, let’s see how much the organization really value me because my name is in trade rumors every single year. And not only do you lose Ime Udoka, you also lose Damon Stoudemire, who was kind of like that real one that they could come to him, or he could kind of be like, ‘Hey man, stop f*****g around, you bulls******g’ He’s not on that bench no more.”
Jaylen is still under contract with the Celtics through this summer and next season, but it won’t be too long before he’s up for his next contract and he hasn’t exactly been eager to shut down the doubts of a long-term stay with the Celtics.
For now, though, his focus is entirely on the postseason and what he can accomplish this year with the group he’s got right now.
