Jaylen Brown was not happy with the Boston Celtics failing to take a 3-1 series lead over the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 4 of their series, dropping the game in OT.
Brown had 23 points on 16 shots with over 60% efficiency. Everyone was wondering why Brown took just three shots in the fourth quarter and OT, something JB himself addressed after the game.
“I guess I got to demand the ball a little bit more. I thought good things happened when I had it in my hands, but I thought our offense was okay. We chipped away, we made big-time shots, and we got great looks all game long. We just came up short in the end.”

Brown has proven his value as more than just a secondary star for the Celtics. Given the tough start to the game Jayson Tatum had, Brown should’ve been trusted more down the stretch of the game instead of the high-usage Tatum had. Even though the 6’10’ forward had a strong second half, Brown should have been more aggressive and taken matters into his own hands during cold offensive stretches.
Trouble In Beantown?
The Celtics would be the proverbial favorites in the East if they showed everyone they can consistently win games. We saw them drop two shocking games to Atlanta, which they nearly made 3 in the closeout of Game 6. Their offensive inconsistency doesn’t seem like a recipe for success, especially against defenses that make them work for every possible shot.
The 76ers tried running the Celtics off the line tonight and it ended up working. There’s no win without Joel Embiid and James Harden’s incredible performances, even though Embiid didn’t have the best performance to end the game. The 76ers used both their offensive options for success, while the Celtics pigeonholed themselves into a 116-117 OT loss by primarily focusing on Tatum down the stretch instead of Brown.
