Jayson Tatum Apologizes To Janet Jackson For Causing Her Concert To Be Moved: “We Were Supposed To Close It Out In Boston… I Apologize For That.”

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown led the Boston Celtics to a series-ending Game 6 win over the Atlanta Hawks in Atlanta.

Many didn’t expect the season to go six games, including Atlanta’s State Farm Arena that had booked a Janet Jackson concert before Game 6 was confirmed. Her concert was moved and Jayson Tatum took the time to apologize to the former 5-time Grammy winner after the game.

“I want to send an apology to the legend Janet Jackson. We were supposed to close it out in Boston. She had to postpone her show. I hope she sees this. I apologize for that.”

Tatum really apologized to Janet Jackson for having to postpone her show in Atlanta for Game 6 🤣 https://t.co/1F1nvRUfMO

Jackson’s concert was moved from Thursday to Friday to accommodate the Hawks game. Tatum knows that they should have won the series sooner and will now lock in on the next round. He averaged 27.2 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in the first round, not exactly the caliber many expected him to perform at.

A Second-Round Rivalry For The Ages

The Celtics will now face the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round, a matchup many believe will decide which team makes it to the NBA Finals after the Milwaukee Bucks were eliminated. The 76ers have a horrible record against the Celtics in head-to-head competition and will enter the series with Joel Embiid suffering a knee injury.

If the 76ers can’t overcome Boston this year, it’ll be a fool’s errand to keep running this roster back with the hope that they can upset the Celtics. This series is going to decide the long-term futures of everyone on both teams, so it’ll be fascinating to see who comes out on top.
