Jayson Tatum Blames LeBron James For No-Calls From Refs After Being Ejected From Knicks Game

Jayson Tatum believes referees are being stricter with him since they missed his game-clinching foul on LeBron James earlier this season.

Jayson Tatum didn’t have a good showing in the Celtics’ loss to the New York Knicks. He scored just 14 points on 18 shots and ended up being ejected from the game.

After the game, Tatum joked on Twitter about his referee treatment getting worse since his controversial foul on LeBron James earlier this season.

He responded to a video where a foul on him by Julius Randle went uncalled, referencing the time his foul on LeBron didn’t count.

Lol this what I get for fouling Bron https://t.co/Tn4lXNJDCE

It’s a funny reference to a controversial moment from earlier this season, but the situations were completely different. The Celtics were down 15 at the time of this foul, as compared to the tie score that led the Lakers to lose in OT against Tatum’s Celtics.

This loss pushed the Celtics down to the No. 2 seed in the East, behind the Milwaukee Bucks.

Boston Celtics Status As Favorites Under Threat?

For most of the season, everyone agreed that the Boston Celtics looked like runaway title favorites. That position isn’t looking that secure with the incredible run of form the Bucks are on, winning 14 straight games with a healthy lineup.

The Celtics were without Jaylen Brown against the Knicks, compounding the team’s issues further. They have a 44-18 record so far this season, trailing the 43-17 Bucks due to winning percentage.

Bostons’ roster may still be better, as the team has gotten good wins this season, even in games where Tatum has struggled mightily. Marcus Smart and Malcolm Brogdon are tremendous guards providing versatility on both ends, while Robert Williams is an All-Defense caliber center. They are still title favorites, but a series against the Bucks may be their worst nightmare.
