It was quite an eventful end to the first-ever Rivals Week in the NBA on Saturday night. The greatest rivalry in the history of the league didn’t disappoint, as the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics went at each other in an overtime thriller.

Unfortunately, however, the biggest story from the game ended up being the officials, as they missed what was an obvious foul by Jayson Tatum on LeBron James, who was attempting the game-winner at the end of regulation. LeBron still hasn’t gotten over it as he has been going after officials and he hilariously commended Tatum for “A good block” on his Instagram story. Tatum then had a humorous response to James on his story (set to expire in 23 hours), as he referenced his comments from the postgame media session.

“last night was blur… good game champ”

Tatum was asked about that play after the game and he hilariously stated that the last 2 minutes and overtime were a blur and that he doesn’t know what happened. He was never going to admit that he clearly fouled LeBron and to be fair, no one in his position would have admitted to it.

Dennis Schroder Wants The Referees To Be Fined For Mistakes

Everyone on the Lakers was fuming after that non-call and you can’t really blame them. The foul was just so blatant that you just cannot believe that the officials missed it, especially considering one of them had a very close view of it.

The Lakers have had some big calls go against them in recent weeks and frustration levels would be rising after this latest incident. Dennis Schroder took to Instagram after the game and said that the referees should be fined for their mistakes, but the NBA will never do that. Being an official isn’t exactly the most desirable job in the world and if fines start getting slapped on them for mistakes, then the league will have a hard time finding people willing to take that job.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
