The Boston Celtics have been among the best teams in the NBA in the last few years. They have built a perennial contender around Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown and could be on their way to a second consecutive NBA Finals appearance.

But despite this, the future isn’t fully sorted for the Celtics. Jaylen Brown has been linked with a move away thanks to various reasons. That has led to speculation that Tatum might follow as well. But he has now made his stance on the matter amply clear.

“I love being here. I love putting on this uniform. I love playing in front of this crowd,” Tatum said, as per Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.

Jayson Tatum is currently the talk of the NBA for scoring the most points by an individual player in a Game 7 on Sunday. He had 51 against the Sixers to slam the door firmly shut on the Celtics’ rivals and claim a second consecutive Eastern Conference Finals appearance.

Although he has the occasional poor game, Jayson Tatum is a superstar, without any doubt. He averaged over 30 points per game in the regular season and has managed over 28 points per game in the playoffs. Tatum has consistently achieved success with the Celtics in the postseason too, and if he stays, the future is bright for the organization.

The Celtics Have Made Jayson Tatum Feel Like He Is In Line To Be Like Bill Russell And Larry Bird

NBA players demand trades or consider moving away if they aren’t enjoying themselves. But this is not true for Tatum at all. In fact, according to an anonymous executive, Tatum will not move on even if Brown leaves because of what the Celtics have told him

“They have done nothing but make Jayson Tatum feel welcome there, make him feel like he is part of a line that goes back to Bill Russell, [John] Havlicek, Sam Jones, Larry Bird, Paul Pierce, all the Celtics greats. As long as they are continuing to win, I don’t think you’re going to hear anything negative from Tatum about wanting to leave.”

The Boston Celtics once again find themselves two series wins away from a championship and they will be determined to get the job done this time. The Miami Heat are a threat, but they can be beaten, as can the Lakers or the Nuggets in the Finals. Jayson Tatum has his opportunity to become a true Celtics great already and even if it doesn’t work out now, it seems like he will have plenty of time to try in his career.
