The Miami Heat have officially made an improbable run to the NBA Finals, spearheaded by superstar Jimmy Butler. Though they will be the underdogs in the matchup, one thing we’ve learned in the playoffs is that they should never be counted out despite the odds.

Jimmy Butler is currently dealing with an ankle injury, which he sustained during the New York Knicks series. However, recently, the superstar refused to use it as an excuse, noting that he is still expected to play at a high level if he is on the floor.

“Nobody cares. You don’t, either. I’m still expected to do my job at a high level if I take the floor, which I will. We’re going to be okay. We’re going to get the job done, bum ankle or not.”

Whether it is fair or not, a lot of fans only care about how a player performs on the court and disregard external factors. Jimmy Butler clearly understands that and is ready to perform like a superstar, whether his ankle is healed or not.

This postseason, Jimmy Butler has averaged 28.5 PPG, 7.0 RPG, and 5.7 APG for the Miami Heat while impacting the game at a high level on both ends of the floor. It will be interesting to see how he does against the Nuggets, and one can tentatively expect him to do well since he’s been consistent throughout the whole playoffs.

Mike Malone Believes The Heat Will Be “The Biggest Challenge” For Nuggets

Coach Mike Malone previously suggested that the Heat aren’t a regular No. 8 seed, pointing out that the Miami Heat defeated the Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics, who were the No. 1 and the No. 2 seeds in the Eastern Conference.

“As I told our team, forget the #8 seed stuff. They beat Milwaukee 4-1 and they had the most wins in the NBA this year. They beat Boston 4-3 and they were up 3-0, team with the second most wins this year. When you get to the NBA Finals, it’s not about seeding anymore. And for those that are thinking this is going to be an easy series, I don’t even know what to say to you people. This is going to be the biggest challenge of our lives. It’s the NBA Finals.”

It is clear that Mike Malon is not underestimating the Heat, which is smart when playing Jimmy Butler. As long as he’s on the roster they shouldn’t be counted out, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
