There is no doubt that Dwyane Wade is the greatest player in Miami Heat history, and many Heat fans revere him for helping bring three championships to the franchise. The Miami Heat would not have found any success without Wade’s presence, and it is clear that he is a legend on many levels.

Recently, Jimmy Butler spoke out about comparisons to Dwyane Wade, with Erik Spoelstra being the latest to make them. He noted that it is a “blessing and a curse” adding that it is difficult to consistently be compared to a legend like Wade. Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald relayed the news.

“It’s like a blessing and a curse because he is without a doubt one of the greats, as you see the news of him being in the Hall of Fame,” Butler said about comparisons to Wade. “But then it’s like every time you do anything, that’s who you get compared to. And I love him to death. But my goodness, it’s hard to be compared to him every step of the way. But like I said, it is a blessing, as well.”

Jimmy Butler is yet to win a championship with the Miami Heat franchise, though he did make the NBA Finals in 2020. Still, he is one of the greatest players in franchise history, and hopefully, he can bring the team to the promised land in the future.

As of right now, Jimmy Butler is averaging 22.9 PPG, 5.9 RPG, and 5.3 APG for the Miami Heat. The team has been inconsistent offensively this year, with them even going on a four-game losing streak earlier in the season. But with Butler at the helm, they can still make things tough for teams in a potential first-round matchup.

Kevin Love Says He’d Take Jimmy Butler Over Any Other Star When It Comes To Winning

Jimmy Butler is one of the biggest competitors in the league and wants to win by any means necessary. In fact, Kevin Love said that he’d take Butler over “anyone in the league” when the goal is to win.

“You know, one of the best closers in the game,” Kevin Love said. “I’ll take Jimmy Butler pretty much over anyone in the league when it comes down to winning. When it comes down to 6 minutes, 4 minutes, 2 minutes, making the last play. That’s why he is who he is. He brings so much out of this team, and he expects so much from himself, and that’s why we love him. He leads us every single night.”

Though the Miami Heat have been a mediocre team this season, that is through no fault of Butler’s. Hopefully, we see him lead them to the playoffs this season and hopefully, win a round or two.
