Jimmy Butler had his plans cut out after the Miami Heat pulled off a stunner by winning the series against the Milwaukee Bucks and making the Eastern Conference semifinals.

“I’m going to play with my daughter… we’re going to get ice cream,” the forward said, after dropping 42 points in the 128-126 win over the Bucks in OT.

Butler has been a force all season and flipped the switch in the playoffs for Miami, averaging 37.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in the five postseason games he’s played so far.

Miami’s 4-1 win sees them seal a semis berth and take on the New York Knicks, who closed out Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

And after all of Butler’s heroics throughout the season, a well-deserved ice cream is surely in order.

Skip Bayless Believes Jimmy Butler Was More Craftier And Patient Than Michael Jordan

Butler’s playoff exploits have been the talk of the NBA for some time now, and prior to his Game 5 demolition of the Bucks, NBA analyst Skip Bayless shed light on his Game 4 heroics.

“In all my years of watching and studying the NBA, I have never seen a more patient, cleverer, craftier scorer than this guy, and that’s including Jordan,” Bayless said on Undisputed. “He is totally in rhythm. It’s all at his own speed. He is like, ‘I am gonna wait, I am gonna wait.’ He is not just taking you down low, he is taking you on the perimeter.”

This is a bold take from Bayless, but Butler has been a clutch phenom. And while he may be miles behind Jordan when it comes to postseason performances. In related comments, Charles Barkley placed the forward as one of the best Heat players over LeBron James.

That parallel leaves the floor open for debate since Butler is yet to win a title with Miami. But should he continue to play this way, a ring isn’t far off.
