Kevin Durant is always ready to reply to those who try to bring him down, even if those had a previous relationship with him. This is the case with Kendrick Perkins, a former teammate of the 2x NBA champion.
Durant and Perkins started beefing a couple of years ago over Kyrie Irving, and the situation hasn’t changed for them, apparently. During a recent conversation with reporters, KD denied that he and Russell Westbrook played on different teams during their OKC practices.
This claim was made by Perkins, but Durant wasn’t having any of that.
“No. See Perk is an entertainer now,” Durant said. “He has to add a little bit extra to it.”
Durant also touched on being guarded by Russ during the Phoenix Suns vs. Los Angeles Clippers series, saying it’s always good to go against these types of rivals.
“You appreciate guys who play extremely hard and push you to be better,” Durant said. “Push you to figure out ways to be better. A couple of those blocks, I took my mind off of him in the fourth for a split second and he come flying out of nowhere and get a block. So just being more patient and just understanding that people are gonna get their hands on some basketballs when they playin’ against me. So just not get discouraged and just keep playin’ and keep finding my spots.”

They have engaged in big battles during the first three games of their first-round duel. The Clippers shocked the Suns with a big win in Game 1, but now Phoenix has taken the lead in the series with two consecutive wins.
Westbrook has played great defense, especially against Durant, Devin Booker, and Chris Paul. The job hasn’t been easy without Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, but Russ keeps playing at a high level every night.
Kevin Durant Hilariously Joked With Russell Westbrook During Clippers-Suns Game
KD was seen yelling at Westbrook in Game 2 of this series, but on Thursday night, he was actually joking with his former teammate, making it clear he didn’t want beef with Westbrook.
This series would be a lot more entertaining if the Clippers were fully healthy, but injuries have ruined their plans ever since they paired up George and Leonard. Game 4 will be crucial for the Los Angelenos team, and Westbrook will try to win it to return to Phoenix with a 2-2 series.
