NBA superstar Kevin Durant continues to remind the world of his superior basketball talent. Tonight, against the shorthanded Clippers, he dropped a smooth 28 points and 5 assists on 53% shooting.

Down the stretch of the game, he also hit some key free throws despite some chattering from Russell Westbrook. In a clip that has gone viral on Twitter, KD is heard telling his former teammate that he wants no problems as he steps up to the line.

It’s unclear what Russ was saying to Durant here, but KD clearly wanted no part of it with the game potentially on the line.

In the end, it was enough for Phoenix to come away with the victory and move up to take a 2-1 series lead over the Clippers. Still, some fans had concerns that the game was even so close, given the Clippers were playing without their two top stars.

Durant Can Win A Title With The Suns This Season

As great as the Westbrook story has been for the Clippers, they’d be lucky to escape the first round, given the injuries to Kawhi and Paul George. The Suns, however, can win it all with their top-end talent, and Durant has been on an absolute tear.

“It’s hard for me to bet against them,” said Reggie Miller, via Duane Rankin from AZ Central. “The West is wide open other than Phoenix in my opinion. Any team that Kevin Durant is on should be a favorite. Now you pair him with Devin Booker and probably the best floor general that we’ve seen over the last 18 to 20 years in Chris Paul.”

Of course, talent alone doesn’t get the job done come playoff time. If the Suns are real about winning a championship, they will need a collaborative effort from the entire group, including guys like Josh Okogie and Chris Paul, who has struggled mightily in the series so far.

The biggest X-factor is Durant, but we all know what to expect from him. As long as he’s healthy and doing his thing, the Suns are going to be tough to beat, and not even Westbrook’s relentless attack is enough to compete against that.
