LeBron James made history today by officially surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s All-Time leading scorer. In nearly two decades in the NBA, this marks one of LeBron’s most impressive achievements yet and it may be one that goes unbeaten for decades.

As the basketball world comes together to celebrate the moment, stars from across the league sent their props to James, who was the center of attention all night long.

James has spoken already about what the record means to him, but even he couldn’t help but appreciate the moment as it happened before everyone’s eyes at Crypto.com arena.

And while fans will debate about whether anyone will pass LeBron’s scoring record, it won’t matter as long as he’s still in the NBA doing his thing. Somehow, at 38, years old, he’s still at the top of his game and there are no signs of him slowing down now.

Is LeBron James The Undisputed GOAT?

As a 19x All-Star, 4x Champion, 4x MVP, and the NBA’s All-Time leading scorer, LeBron James certainly had the best career of any player in modern basketball history. The only comparison is Michael Jordan, who went a perfect 6-0 in the NBA Finals as he dominated the basketball world through the 80s and 90s.

But LeBron’s individual accolades, team success, and the amazing longevity of his career have created the perfect storm of circumstances to knock Jordan off his pedestal and he’s got as good a case as anyone for being the greatest of All-Time.

“The athleticism is incredible, so I’m happy for him,” said Celtics legend Paul Pierce on James. “I always say Michael Jordan is the GOAT. If he [LeBron] really surpasses Kareem in the scoring record, I’m sort of running out of arguments for Michael. What this guy has done has been nothing short of incredible. The longevity, and I always say, you being called ‘King’ at 15, and how he turned out and what he’s done for the communities where he’s played and changed so many lives, so he’s a very very special athlete and I think for now we’ll appreciate watching him at the level that he’s playing.”

The GOAT debate will always be a hot topic in the NBA, and it’s only a matter of time before a player adds another layer to the age-old argument.

But, for now, we c should all appreciate LeBron James while he’s still here and do what we can to celebrate his journey to greatness.
