The Los Angeles Lakers have been able to call some of the greatest players in the history of the NBA a part of their team. One of the NBA’s most historic franchises has been home to some of the all-time greats the league has seen over its 75-year lifespan.

And on one day, they hosted several legends at their training camp. At the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2005 training camp, they had their star player Kobe Bryant, and big man Andrew Bynum ready to practice. But they also had some legends take part in the training camp.

In these pictures, Kobe Bryant is seen talking with Scottie Pippen in the middle of a shoot-around. Kareem was seen working with Lakers’ young big man Andrew Bynum, perhaps giving him some tips from his experience, given that he is one of the greatest centers of all time.

Magic Johnson was seen shooting the ball, perhaps getting in a workout with the Lakers who were preparing for the new NBA season.

Former Lakers’ legends Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar were present at the camp. Along with that, Scottie Pippen, the former 6-time NBA champion with the Chicago Bulls was also at training camp, perhaps getting a few rounds in with the Lakers squad.

Johnson and Kareem’s presence makes sense. The two are considered Lakers legends and helped bring several championships to LA, even while playing together in LA. As for Scottie Pippen, while he never played with the Los Angeles Lakers, he had played under Phil Jackson, who had just returned to LA as their head coach.

The members present at the Lakers’ training camp would have combined for one of the greatest starting line-ups in NBA history. In fact, 4 people present at the training camp (Kobe, Kareem, Magic, and Phil Jackson) were picked by Jeanie Buss as the most important Lakers of all time.

And while the legends were not anywhere near the prime of their career, it still would have made for an incredible session for some of the younger players on the Lakers squad.
