The Brooklyn Nets were the biggest talking point in the NBA a month ago. They got rid of their head coach and then had to back out of hiring Ime Udoka due to the scrutiny the suspended Celtics head coach was under. This is coming off a summer where both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant expressed their desire to leave.
While KD reconciled with the Nets, Kyrie had a lot more controversy in him to start the season. He was suspended by Joe Tsai for sharing an anti-Semitic movie, for which even NBA Commissiuoner Adam Silver felt the need to intervene and speak to Kyrie. The Nets were struggling to be above .500 as this was happening, but have gone on a great run in their last 10 games to become the No. 4 seed in the East,
Kyrie has opened up on how a mentality shift led to success for him in Brooklyn.
Kyrie Irving on Brooklyn's mindset amid recent success:
“Let’s just go win ballgames, that’s really what the attitude is… No more excuses, no more distractions, no more just throwing in these surprise injuries. We just want everybody to be healthy and everybody to have fun."

Irving has averaged 25.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in the last 10 games as the Nets have won 8 games. If he can keep this form up and KD stays healthy, the Nets will return to the top of the conversation of championship contenders.
Should The Nets Still Be Looked At As A Championship Conetnder?
Last month, there were genuine calls for the Nets to break up and trade their players while they still have value. However, this recent run has reinvigorated the franchise and made them look like one of the best teams in the NBA.
With the talent that they have, and a slowly improving Ben Simmons, the Nets have the ingredients for a championship run. The lack of a true defensive big in the East will hurt them, but having KD and Kyrie will always make them an incredible threat.
