Ja Morant alarmed NBA fans worldwide yesterday after deciding to quit social media after his recent gun incident in a concerning way.

Morant put up pictures of his family before posting a story that said ‘bye,’ concerning people enough that the police conducted a welfare check at his house. Kyrie Irving decided to comment on the situation by expressing the need to nurture Morant.

“Even today with Ja and it’s not even a situation, it’s somebody’s life that is very fragile and needs to be taken care of and nurtured… Whatever color you are, whatever creed, and whatever religion you are, a lot of us need nurturing. We need the nurturing, the nurturing of maternal and paternal instincts that we get from our mom and dad or our grandparent. We need to normalize family time, taking off the veil of technology. Stop letting technology control your f***ing mind. Stop letting this sh*t do that. Go out in the sun, ground yourself. Learn what peace and mind actually means and pray to God.”

Irving had a very active Instagram Live where he also revealed to people that he hasn’t made a decision for free agency just yet, despite recent reports of him agreeing on a four-year contract with the Mavericks on a ‘handshake deal.’

Will Irving Remain In Dallas?

Mavericks fans are waiting with bated breath to see what Irving’s decision will be given how the team has no assets and Kyrie leaving them could be another move that sets them back years after what happened with Jalen Brunson last offseason. The interest from the Lakers seems very real, and Irving has a good chance of figuring a way out to wear purple and gold this summer.

The Mavericks have a massive financial advantage in what they can offer Irving, as the Lakers cannot clear the amount worth his full max but can clear enough to give him a $36 million-a-year contract. It’s either that or make Irving force the Mavs to participate in a sign-and-trade which gives Dallas players like D’Angelo Russell. Ultimately, Kyrie leaving is a lose-lose for the Mavericks, and they’ll pray he’s on the roster come training camp.
