The Memphis Grizzlies played some fantastic team basketball on their way to a strong Game 2 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

It’s hard not to put some blame on Anthony Davis, who had 13 points on 28.6% shooting from the field. His inefficiency and passive play on the court have brought the ire of Laker fans on Twitter.

A fan shared a video of a man literally running away from the smoke and comparing it to AD.

Xavier Tillman answered the challenge and played against Davis magnificently.

John Konchar blocking AD clean made for a great highlight.

A fan said this was the worst game he had ever seen from Davis.

Some hilarious videos are being used to demonstrate how bad AD’s performance on the night was.

Fans are not happy about AD being gassed up as a possible All-NBA selection prior to the playoffs.

Everyone knows what level of carrying LeBron James can pull off at age 38, and it isn’t the same as LBJ from even 3 to 4 seasons ago. The Lakers don’t stand a chance at contention if Davis isn’t the best player on the court, more often than not.

This loss will sting because of how bad AD was on offense. He played string defense as usual, but the Lakers needed buckets from him tonight. Hopefully, it can motivate him for Game 2.

Grizzlies Figuring Out A Strong Defensive Strategy

Much was made about the lack of size on the current Memphis roster after injuries to Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke. Xavier Tillman has been a bench big this entire season but had a massive game tonight, arguably being the best Grizzlies player on the roster. He gave AD a hard time defensively, along with Jaren Jackson Jr., and led them in scoring on the night.

JJJ and Tillman did a fantastic job in ensuring AD didn’t put big numbers up. With that level of attention on Davis, the other Laker players not named LeBron James or Rui Hachimura couldn’t capitalize.

If this strategy continues and the Lakers can’t adjust to it, Davis is in for a hell of a series. He’s an all-time talent that will need to figure out how to overcome this obstacle and emerge victorious.
