The Los Angeles Lakers fans were issued tough choices for ‘Start, bench, cut’, and the three players in focus were LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Magic Johnson.

In an Instagram video doing the rounds, Lakers fans shared their take on who they would pick for each scenario between the trio.

“There’s no right answer,” one of the fans said, but he was eventually asked to choose. “Start Kobe, bench LeBron, and cut Magic,” he said. “I’m starting LeBron, benching Kobe, and sorry Magic,” another opined.

“Start Kobe, bench LeBron… I don’t know too much about Magic, so he’s getting the cut,” one remarked. “Start Kobe. bench LeBron, and cut Magic” was the common reply everywhere.

It’s not easy choices really, given that Magic was one of the more flamboyant guards to play in the NBA, while Kobe and James were phenomenal from the get-go. All three have been instrumental in the Lakers winning championships. Tough luck for Magic for being cut though.

NBA Fans Add Their Own Twist To The Instagram Video Asking To Choose ‘Start, Bench, Cut’ Between The Lakers Trio

While the task at hand was to choose between Magic, LeBron, and Kobe, some fans who responded to the post had their own dose of comments.

P

“Why y’all forcing all this Magic slander?” one of the fans wrote. “Start Kobe bench magic cut the Lakers general manager,” another commented.

“Only folks with no sense of history cut Magic,” wrote one of the fans. “I hate everyone! What did Magic do in his first finals!!! In his rookie year?” a fan asked.

Cutting Magic would truly be blasphemy given he was their driving force in all of the five championships he won with the Lakers.

He won his first championship in his rookie season with LA.  His exemplary feats in Game 6 earned him the NBA Finals MVP award in the 1980 championship. He was a 20-year-old rookie and to date, the only rookie to ever win the award. Pity that the new generation doesn’t get the Magic Johnson weaved.
